Is all right good enough?

Is all right good enough for you, Mr. Gerhardt?"
An exception on this log: a (small) review in English (so the readers of The Girl in The Café log can also follow my review). My name was not on the tour list, but she was so friendly to pay me a visit with the DVD in her bag. It was the second time I saw the film, which was good because the circumstances were not really ideal when watching the film (an afternoon with lots of kids in the same room, playing with Lego blocks). Also, watching something for the second time makes you focus on different things when watching it for the first time. My English is a bit rusty, so excuse me for spelling errors and strange grammatical constructions. I'm trying hard.

I'm not going to tell the story. You can read in all the other reviews. I did find it hard to categorize the film because it is an interesting mixture of different genres. I do not agree with Sandra that he is being fed up with his job. It is just his job and he finds a certain fulfillment in his office everyday. He is very aware of his work and also very proud of it. It is the only thing he has basically. He is so British in everything, the way he moves, his social behaviour, his clothes. I loved that. Gina is young and sparkling. I love her accent. It is amazing that she is able to make me feel embarassed by the way she is acting. She could make me think "oh no, not another sentence, stop, stop, please, can't you see that everybody is really angry now...". And she went on and on. And on. I loved the contradictions they have in about everything they have and stand for.
Also, I find it a very sweet film, which is a strange combination with the harsh truth of poverty and starvation. It certainly is a good way to bring such a serious topic under the attention again. I would like to have it in my libary as well...
And the sound of fingers snapping still gives me goose bumps.
